Two Banks in Germany Reach a Merger Agreement Two of Germany's rival cooperative banks, DG Bank and GZ Bank, agreed to merge, creating Germany's sixth-largest bank, with about $257 billion in assets. The deal is the latest turn in the fitful consolidation among Germany's financial institutions. The companies, which are not publicly traded, valued the deal at $10.4 billion based on audits of their operations. [Page C2.]
