An article on May 4 about a dispute between the Hackensack University Medical Center and The Record, a newspaper owned by the North Jersey Media Group, using information from Malcolm Borg, the chairman of the group, overstated the connection of his daughter to the dispute. Jennifer Borg is the general counsel for the media group and is also on the medical center’s board. But as a member of the board, she did not recuse herself from “most decisions having to do with the paper” because no matters involving the paper were ever formally presented to the board.

An article on Wednesday about The Philadelphia Inquirer’s new opinion columnist misstated the given name of the newspaper’s publisher in some editions. He is Brian Tierney, not John.

A picture caption on Thursday with the Abroad column, about concern in Aix-en-Provence, France, over plans for a train line that would cut through an area where Cézanne painted landscapes, misidentified the region of France in which La Rochelle, where President Nicolas Sarkozy was shown announcing plans for the rail line, is situated. It is on the west coast of France, not in southern France.

A music review on May 1 about the Ponderosa Stomp, in New Orleans, referred incorrectly to the appearance of the singer Roy Loney and the guitarist Cyril Jordan, the two original songwriters of the Flamin’ Groovies. While they performed their first full set together since 1971, they also performed together in 1991 in San Francisco when Mr. Jordan performed Flamin’ Groovies songs with the Sneetches and Mr. Loney joined them for encores. Their performance at the Ponderosa Stomp was not their first reunion onstage since 1971.

A film review last Friday about “Outrage,” a documentary about the “conspiracy” to protect secretly gay politicians who vote against gay interests, misstated the surname of a blogger shown in the film who believes such politicians should be publicly identified as gay. He is Michael Rogers, not Rodgers.

An article on Tuesday about the investigative tools being used in computer security operations misspelled the surname of a political scientist at the University of Toronto. He is Ronald Deibert, not Diebert. It also misstated the surname of the editor of Infowar Monitor. He is Greg Walton, not Watson.

An obituary on Thursday about L. William Seidman, former head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, misstated his position on the productivity commission appointed by President Ronald Reagan in the early 1980s. He was the commission’s co-chairman, not its official chairman, which was William E. Simon, former secretary of the Treasury. (Some accounts described Mr. Seidman as the working chairman.).

The move by two top earners marks the first time a partner in Skadden’s M.&A. practice has jumped to a competitor.
