An article on Tuesday, and a correction in this space on Wednesday, about a task force that is to recommend ways to reveal more information about decision-making at the Food and Drug Administration referred incorrectly to a 2000 paper on the painkiller Celebrex in The Journal of the American Medical Association. After learning that the paper omitted data suggesting that the drug did not protect against ulcers, the journal published a clarification from the authors. The paper was not retracted, and the journal did not publish an apology from the editors.

A picture caption with an article on Wednesday about a lawsuit against Bay Quackers, a tour company that operates open-air amphibious vehicles in San Francisco, misstated the year the company began its tours. As the article correctly noted, it was 2005, not 1995.
