An article on Wednesday about a funeral service for two of the three men who died in a toxic well at the Regal Recycling Company in Jamaica, Queens, on Monday erroneously linked Michael Reali, one of the principals of company, to a bid-rigging scheme in 1996 in which several companies were accused of inflating garbage hauling fees at federal buildings. That case involved a different Michael Reali not affiliated with Regal Recycling, who at the time lived in Woodbury, N.Y., and who eventually pleaded guilty to petty larceny and was sentenced to a conditional discharge.

An article on June 23 about a zoning dispute between neighbors of a landmark Christian Science church on Park Avenue and a catering company that leases the church for high-society events gave outdated information about the New York Landmarks Conservancy’s position on the church’s application to lease its building. In a draft of remarks prepared for a hearing, the group did support the application, but no hearing was ever held, so it never gave any testimony, and ultimately did not take any public position on the matter. The article also provided insufficient context for a comment by the conservancy. In saying it was “no exaggeration to call this a crisis,” the conservancy was referring generally to the plight of churches nationwide with dwindling congregations and resources, not specifically to the Park Avenue church.

Because of an editing error, an article on June 18 about plans by Reader’s Digest to change the editorial focus of the magazine from generic “how-to” articles and celebrity profiles aimed at a broad audience to appeal to a narrower base referred incorrectly at one point to the nature of the change. As the rest of the article made clear, the shift is toward conservative social values, not “to the right” politically.

A picture caption on Wednesday with an appraisal of the choreographer Pina Bausch, who died on Tuesday, misstated the surname of a dancer shown in Ms. Bausch’s “Carnations.” She is Julie Anne Stanzak, not Tanzak.
