He is Liam Kavanagh, not Cavanaugh.

An article in some editions on Thursday about the role of Kate Murray, the supervisor of the Town of Hempstead, N.Y., in a $3.8 billion plan to refurbish Nassau Coliseum and build thousands of houses, offices and stores nearby referred imprecisely to another suburban community, Levittown, N.Y., where Murray grew up. While Levittown is considered to be the country’s first postwar suburb, featuring mass-produced housing, it is not necessarily “America’s original suburb.” (Suburbs first emerged in the 1800s and several of them lay claim to the “first” distinction.).

An article in some editions on Wednesday about Mike Richter, the retired Rangers goalie, who received the Lester Patrick Award for outstanding service to hockey in the United States, misidentified the Congressional district that includes Guilford, Conn., where Richter lives. It is the Third Congressional District, not the Fourth. (In 2007 Richter decided against a run for Congress in the Fourth Congressional District.).

Lou Jacobi was a Canadian character actor. Jacobi came to prominence for his role as Mr. Van Daan in the 1955 Broadway production of The Diary of Anne Frank which he reprised in the 1959 film version. He also acted in the films Irma la Douce (1963), Little Murders (1971), Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex*  (1972), Next Stop, Greenwich Village (1976), The Lucky Star (1980), Arthur (1981), My Favorite Year (1982), and Avalon (1990).
