A picture caption last Sunday with an article about the Pacifica Quartet, which is succeeding the Guarneri String Quartet as the quartet in residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, misspelled the surname of the violinist shown with the Guarneri String Quartet. He is John Dalley, not Dailey.

The “In the Region” article in New Jersey copies last Sunday about the marketing of expensive properties to professional athletes misidentified the town in which Arlene Gonnella, a real estate agent, showed houses to Bart Scott, a linebacker for the New York Jets. It was Short Hills, not Summit. The article also misidentified the site of the condominium Brownstones at Convent Station. Convent Station is an unincorporated area in Morris County, not part of Chatham.

Casting statistics on sex, age and race released by the Screen Actors Guild on Friday showed that the number of minority performers hired for film and television roles declined in 2008.

Meiji University in Tokyo has announced plans to open a library devoted to the art of manga, the Japanese graphic novel genre. According to Agence France-Presse, plans for the Tokyo International Manga Library include storage for two million comic books, animation drawings, video games and other artifacts. The library’s first phase, to be named after the critic and author Yoshihiro Yonezawa, will house his collection of 140,000 comic books and is scheduled to open this month. The rest of the library is scheduled to be completed by 2015. “Manga has been taken lightly in the past, and there has been no solid archive for serious study,” Susumi Shibao, a library official, told Agence France-Presse. The private university plans to offer international researchers, as well as students and fans, access to its collections.

Friends and colleagues of Clive Barnes, the influential theater and dance critic who died last year, will remember his life and work on Nov. 2 at an event hosted by the New York Post columnist Michael Riedel. Scheduled speakers include Edward Albee, Paul Taylor and Frederic Franklin of American Ballet Theater, as well as The New York Times’s chief dance critic, Alastair Macaulay, and his predecessor at The Times Anna Kisselgoff, among others. Mr. Barnes, who worked for The Post for the last 30 years and The Times before that, helped usher in a new generation of dancers in the 1960s and as a theater critic helped make playwrights like David Mamet and Tom Stoppard famous. The free event, with limited seating for the public, will begin at 3 p.m. at Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center.

In March, Vertigo, an imprint of DC Comics, will release the first issue of “American Vampire.” The new series, illustrated by Rafael Albuquerque, will open with a five-issue arc that contains two 16-page stories: one by Scott Snyder and one by a rather more well-known name, Stephen King. The series will focus on a new breed of vampire through the lens of different eras in American history, above. Mr. Snyder will tell the story of Pearl, who is seeking fame in the jazz age, while Mr. King will focus on Skinner Sweet, the first American vampire who does not fear the sun. Mr. King’s involvement began when Mr. Snyder sent him the series pitch in the hopes of getting a blurb. “He wrote back saying he really liked it and would do a couple of issues if anyone would let him,” Mr. Snyder said.
