An article on Tuesday about a proposed 10-point checklist devised to test Republicans on their commitment to their party’s core principles misstated the number of points that candidates would be required to support in order to be endorsed by the Republican National Committee. They would need to agree with at least eight  not seven  of the 10 points.

A chart on Wednesday with an article about President Obama’s first state dinner referred imprecisely to the occupation of one of the guests, Jhumpa Lahiri. While she is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, she writes fiction; she does not write for the media. 

An article on Nov. 14 about a decision to try five suspects in federal court in New York for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks referred imprecisely to the deaths at the World Trade Center. About 2,750 people died there  not “nearly 3,000,” the estimated total number of deaths in the attacks that day. 

An article on Nov. 18 about Goldman Sachs’s response to criticism of its high pay and its role in the financial crisis, using information from a Bloomberg News article, quoted imprecisely from remarks by its chief executive, Lloyd C. Blankfein, at a conference in New York. Mr. Blankfein said, “We participated in things that were clearly wrong and we have reasons to regret and apologize for.” He did not say: “We participated in things that were clearly wrong and have reason to regret. We apologize.” The imprecise quotation was repeated in an article in Week in Review on Sunday. (The quotation appeared correctly in an editorial on Sunday.) 

An article on Wednesday about a response by the money manager Raj Rajaratnam to charges brought against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission misidentified the federal authority that sought to use wiretaps in an investigation of insider trading at his hedge fund. And the headline also misidentified the authority that Mr. Rajaratnam had accused of illegal wiretaps. In both instances, it was the United States Attorney’s office, not the S.E.C.

Because of an editing error, an Associated Press report in the Sports Briefing column on Wednesday about the sale of the Pontiac Silverdome, outside Detroit, misstated the year that Super Bowl XVI was played there. It was 1982, not 1983.

A picture caption on Monday with a dance review of a ballet company at the Joyce Theater misstated part of the company’s name. It is Complexions Contemporary Ballet, not Complexions Temporary Ballet.

An article on Nov. 10 about garbage patches in the world’s oceans referred incorrectly to the travels of a graduate student researching a master’s thesis on plastic accumulation in the oceans. The student, Bonnie Monteleone, visited the Sargasso Sea, which is part of a feature known as the Atlantic gyre. Thus, it was not the case that she “might not have found” the gyre. (Ms. Monteleone said instead that she might not have found the zone with the highest concentration of trash.)

A listing in the Calendar on Wednesday about a sake tasting and sushi class scheduled for Monday and Dec. 21 at Sushi Samba misstated the restaurant’s phone number. It is (212) 691-7885.
