Corrections

An article on Monday about the declining fortunes of the Plaza Hotel in New York misspelled the surname of a part owner of the Oak Room, one of the Plaza’s restaurants. He is Joey Allaham, not Alaham.

Because of an editing error, a report by The Associated Press in the National Briefing column on Wednesday about the felling of New England’s oldest and largest elm tree, known as Herbie, misstated its location. It was in Yarmouth, Maine  not Yarmouth, Mass.

An article on Saturday about a reunion of the passengers and crew aboard the US Airways jet that crash-landed onto the Hudson River a year ago misstated the location of the crash and the event that occurred 90 seconds into the flight. The crash was at 40 degrees 46 minutes 10.19 seconds north latitude, and 74 degrees 16.69 seconds west longitude  not south latitude. It was the intake of geese by the plane’s engines that took place at the 90-second mark, not the crash itself.

An article in some editions on Saturday about the mood among New York Jets fans as their team prepared for the division playoff game against the San Diego Chargers misstated the time between playoff appearances. It was three years ago  a 37-16 loss to the New England Patriots  not five years ago. (A playoff game five years ago marked the Jets’ last victory in the playoffs, a 20-17 win against the Chargers.).

An article on Saturday about a debate by the board of WBAI, New York City’s countercultural radio station, over whether to seat a new member, Lynne F. Stewart  the radical lawyer imprisoned for aiding terrorism  referred imprecisely to Danny Schechter, who said of WBAI: “I wouldn’t call it a collective. I’d call it a collection.” Although he has produced documentaries that were broadcast on WBAI, and has often appeared on air, he has never been on the staff of the station.
