PARIS, Aug. 23. -- There have been turmoil and fighting in the streets of Paris tonight such as had not been seen since before the war.
GENEVA, Aug. 23. -- Staid, Calvinistic Geneva is in somewhat penitent mood today. It has begun to count the cost of last night's indulgence and the cost is heavy. Some $40,000 worth of plate glass was broken in various shops and at the League of Nations building and the reputation of the town has suffered even more than its windows.
