Foreigners sell holdings following Hoover statement that U S nearly went off gold standard

Further weakness on the Stock Exchange yesterday was the result of "discouraged selling" and renewed speculative operations for the decline, in the judgment of Wall Street, as reflected in the commission house comment. The discouragement was ascribed to conditions within the market itself rather than to fresh outside influences.
