KENNEDY ANSWERS INQUEST QUERIES

Inquest begins; Kennedy, for 1st time under oath, answers questions about his movements before and after Kopechne's death; is on stand for 2 hrs; says he is satisfied he responded in most complete way possible to all questions asked him by Dist Atty Dinis and Judge Boyle; says he volunteered some additional 'useful' information; says his testimony was substantially same as his previous statements to Edgartown police and on TV; under strict security imposed by Boyle, only 6 persons are in courtroom when Kennedy testifies; they are Boyle, Dinis, Kennedy attys E B Hanify and R G Clark Jr, ct clerk and ct stenographer; Boyle warns against any leakage of testimony; about 200 newsmen, barred from courtroom, mill around outside; inquest transcript seen made pub eventually; Kennedy followed on stand by 2 sailing companions, R LaRosa and C Tretter; both were present at cookout on Chappaquiddick Is that Kennedy and Kopechne attended before accident; in his previous statements, Kennedy made no mention of seeing them or speaking to them; Kennedy illus arriving at courthouse with wife
