‘Bed and Board’— But Not Bored

IT comes as something of a shock when, toward the end of “Bed and Board,” Francois Truf faut's very funny new film at the Fine Arts Theater, An toine Doinel (Jean‐Pierre Léaud), who has failed as everything from private de tective to florist's assistant, reveals that he is writing an autobiographical novel about his truly terrifying childhood. It is characteristic of Truffaut that the information is initi ally presented as the peg for a series of gags: Antoine is talking to Césarin, patron of the local bar. Césarin points out that another great novel ist, Baudelaire, had also be gun in flowers and he goes on to suggest a title for the book, “With Neither Drum Nor Trumpet,” since there will be no drums or trumpets in Antoine's novel.

BEAR MOUNTAIN, N. Y., Jan. 23—Larry Stone, the cap tain of the 1966 Williams Col lege ski team, outjumped 24 rivals today to capture the Ramapo Mountain Ski Club's Eisenhower Trophy before 7,500 spectators.
