Army, after about a year's experimentation in liberalizing and easing basic training in effort to attract more volunteers, has decided to return to rigorous type of recruit training; beer has been removed from barracks, which will be no longer divided into private cubicles; Army will not reinstitute reveille formations and will continue to give recruits weekend passes during final mo of training; other training program revisions noted
