Chockablock with mayhem and mischief bounded only by diabolical imagination, the annals of crime in New York City plumbed a bizarre new dimension yesterday with a report that a Bronx man had tried to steal a well-marked transit police car -- with a uniformed officer seated in it. "I gotta go! I gotta go!" the intruder shouted as he jumped in beside the stunned officer, Daniel Daly, and grabbed the wheel of the idling white-and-blue cruiser.
In a sign that the recession may be approaching an end, the Government said today that its main economic forecasting index climbed 1.1 percent in February, the first advance since June and the biggest in more than two and a half years. Even though the bulk of the rise in the index of leading indicators was caused by financial and psychological factors, many analysts regarded the Commerce Department report as evidence of an impending upturn in the economy after a half-year or so of contraction.

President Mikhail S. Gorbachev has said he wants to address Japan's claims to a group of Soviet-held islands when he travels to Tokyo next month, a leader of Japan's governing party said today. The dispute over the islands, which the Soviet Union seized at the end of World War II, is the most important irritant in the uneasy Soviet-Japanese relationship. The Japanese official, Ichiro Ozawa, described Mr. Gorbachev's position in an interview here after visiting Moscow to prepare for the Soviet leader's trip to Tokyo on April 16.

Nathan John Feuerstein, known by his initials NF, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He has released two EPs, I'm Free (2012), and a self-titled EP in 2014 with Capitol CMG. His second and first major-label studio album, Mansion, was released on March 31, 2015. His third studio album, Therapy Session, was released on April 22, 2016, and peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard 200. His albums have earned several accolades, some of which include the Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year in 2016 and the Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year in 2017.
