Greenspan Supports Rules On Derivative Accounting Alan Greenspan, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, has come out in favor of the accounting rule makers, the Financial Accounting Standards Board. In a letter to Arthur Levitt Jr., the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Greenspan said that he approved of the accounting board's attempt to force companies to record the value of financial derivatives in their financial statements.
